About our Family Farm
Nice to meet you
Hey there! Glad you’ve made this connection.
We are a family run kennel and grain/beef cattle farm in Southern Manitoba who have been at it for 6 generations. Our family celebrated our farm centennial in 1998, and we are excited to see the future generations on the farm. Our four sons and their partners are all involved in the operation and we take great pride in our work. We live by the concept that we “play through our work”, and teamwork is such a key element of this. We all work together in our daily chores, fixing fence, cutting wood, and try to find time to enjoy our farm and property. There is never enough time in the day to enjoy all that our community and our farm has to offer. We love our job, but who wouldn’t love the idea of playing with puppies each day and sharing a new family member with so many families across Canada? This little venture has allowed us to become friends with many of our puppy families and we value these relationships. We have placed our pups in every province of Canada, and truly enjoy staying in touch with our ValleaView families to watch them grow and share their stories. Many of our pups are in British Columbia, and what a wonderful place for our pups to call home; the endless outdoor adventures our families present to the dogs, and what an ideal climate! (We are almost jealous…)
Our goals as Labrador and Golden Retriever breeders are to provide families with an affordable puppy that will grow into a well mannered companion for all family members and ages. Whether you are looking for a fireplace companion, your next hunting partner, or a new best friend for your children, labs and retreivers are definitely versatile breeds that can adapt to your family’s rhythm. Our dogs are all on a strict vaccination schedule, as well as the pups themselves, and we are careful when selecting our breeding stock. We look for strong body structure, solid genetics and a gentle personality and attitude. We purposely breed a combination of the “English”-blocky head, square build - and “American”- slender, taller body, more athletic - to get the offspring that won’t be extreme either way. We enjoy a retriever in the middle; whose body structure will do well in the working field and as a loyal family pet.
We have been members of the Canadian Kennel Club for almost 25 years, and are proud of our new spacious kennels. We have a close working relationship with our local veterinarians who frequent our facilities and visit our dogs. Some of our puppies and retired dogs, even live with a few of our veterinarians in their personal homes.
